Family holidays for Majorca’s key workers

By | 30 July, 2020 | 0 comments

Hotel Samos is taking part in the Gaudeix l’Illa (Enjoy the Island) initiative for vulnerable people and key workers in Majorca to enjoy a break with their family on the island.

Gaudeix l’Illa is a social programme that forms part of the Majorca Council’s plan to reactivate the local economy and to thank workers in essential services for their contribution to society during the lockdown.

As part of the Mallorca Reacciona (Majorca Reacts) plan and via the Fundació Mallorca Turisme (Majorca Tourism Foundation), the scheme will receive a million Euros to help subsidise the stays.

Who is the initiative for?

Almost 16,000 people from vulnerable groups or who were key workers during the state of emergency, including their partners and children, will be able to enjoy a well-deserved family holiday here on the island.

The key workers who can apply are those who actively worked during the toughest phases of the lockdown in sectors including social affairs, healthcare, pharmacies, supermarkets, transport, security, petrol stations, waste collection, cleaning and deliveries.

What will they receive?

The programme will offer 464 vouchers for families in vulnerable situations (chosen by social services), as well as 3,443 vouchers (awarded via a prize draw) for key workers.

Each voucher is worth 250 EUR for a 3-night break for 2 adults and 2 children, to enjoy by 30 September 2020 in one of the participating hotels across Majorca.

Congratulations to the winners!

We are very happy to take part in this wonderful initiative to recognise Majorca’s key workers, and we look forward to welcoming some of the lucky winners and their families to Hotel Samos this summer.

If you have won a voucher, please follow the instructions received and contact us on the email address provided in order to reserve your break with us.

See you soon, from everyone at Hotel Samos
